Getting Around Town
Prague has an extensive public transportation network. It is inexpensive, safe, and comprehensive, providing service within the city and to surrounding suburbs and villages. It consists of the underground subway, or Metro; trams; and buses. The normal operating hours are from 5 a.m. to midnight. However, an extensive night transportation service consisting of trams and buses operates between midnight and 5 a.m. Tickets are 12 crowns for 60 minutes—or about 40 cents. A monthly pass costs approximately 15 USD, and fifteen-day, quarterly, and yearly passes are available for a very reasonable price as well.
