Mission Statement

ITC provides affordable, practical training in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL). The training provided at ITC ensures that every graduate is prepared to teach English worldwide. In working to fulfill this mission over the past eight years, ITC has become one of the most recognized and respected TEFL Training Centers in the world today.

History

Shortly after the fall of communism in 1989, with western influence starting to expand eastward, the demand for English teachers in eastern Europe exploded. At that time however, there was a substantial lack of qualified English teachers. In 1993, English for Everybody opened its doors, hoping to bridge that gap by placing qualified English teachers in schools throughout eastern Europe. After two years of successfully placing English teachers, and with the demand for teachers still unquenchable, the original vision of English for Everybody began to evolve.

In 1995, English for Everybody became the ITC of today, with the idea that one doesn’t necessarily have to have a teaching degree, or even any experience teaching for that matter, in order to be a successful English teacher overseas. Based on solid, well-established techniques for training native speakers, ITC established its first training course in Prague. There, trainees underwent the practical training necessary that allowed them to be awarded the ITC TEFL Certificate qualification. One of the most important elements of the program was the inclusion of local support for the trainees, such as assistance with housing and overcoming language barriers. ITC was one of the first TEFL schools in the world to provide candidates with an opportunity to train overseas--at a fraction of the cost of training in the US or UK.
