After the Course
Upon completing our four week intensive TEFL program you will have
- A solid working knowledge of the main phonological, lexical and structural systems and usage of contemporary English
- An awarness of the learning needs of individuals or groups of learners, and of the motivation of learners in a number of different circumstances and environments, using a variety of methods that allow students more memorable, practical experiential learning
- A good rapport, sensitivity to student needs and the ability to plan and create enjoyable and engaging lessons that maintain learners´ interest .
- The ability to devise a series of level-appropriate lesson plans with clear, specific and appropriate aims and objectives that draw on a variety of methods and materials for different learning styles.
- The ability to provide and manage a well-balanced syllabus of interesting, relevant and contextualised lessons that increase the learners‘ linguistic competence and encourage active participation and interaction through task-based learning.
- The ability to evaluate, use and adapt published material and display further creativity in developing your own simple teaching aids and supplementary material, including the use of visual aids, audio, video and ICT.
- A comprehensive understanding of different language teaching approaches, and assess their advantages, possible drawbacks and appropriateness with different classes.
- The ability to reflect upon and evaluate your own progress as teachers, work effectively in a team and be able to give assistance and support to teaching colleagues.
- The potential to further your post-course development as English for Speaker of Other Languages (ESOL) teachers through subsequent private study, training or participation in professional networking events.
